Community Food Bank

Experience at rotation:  This rotation was very eye-opening for me.  During my time at Community Food Bank I was able to learn about how the program is run, where the funding comes from, and I was also able to visit a food donation site and offer the participants nutrition information.  Being able to see a food donation site first hand was a very awakening experience and it made me realize how important programs like Community Food Bank are to communities.

How experience helped achieve career goals:  This experience will help me when working with low-income families in the future.  Now that I have experienced this for myself I will be able to accurately inform families on what it is and also better understand the challenges that families who do participate encounter.   

Assignment title:  Compile the results from the backpack surveys. 

Assignment description:  My preceptor had surveys that had been completed by families participating in the Backpack Program and asked that I compile the surveys and write a summary describing the results.
